Status Report: Readings

Its almost mid November. We need to make sure we get all our readings done before the holiday starts. I'm suggesting we aim to have the Lisp book finsihed by the end of November and have most of the Compilers text read one time through before the holidays start. That sounds ambitious now, but I think it'll pay off once we're in class.

I've gotta stop playing StarCraft.

I have the Google Calendar set up for you and me Ian.

I'm too lazy to look for the Compilers textbook. Wait, do you guys mean that link online?

But I'll try. 12 Chapters to go ... We'll need some rigorous discipline to do this.

I'll see you at the finish line Ian.

Yea, the one online. I updated this blog entry to hyperlink to the text.

Hmm... do u guys want me to call bull right away? It is highly unlikely that we will read through that textbook by the end of the term never mind before Jan... A good goal would be understanding what is required for A1 in terms of functional blocks and software architecture...

Well, to learn that, the text book is a good place to start. So, you know, reading the text book is probably the way to go. The school term itself will be the time when we should figure out how to do it. If we figured it out now we'd be doing the assignment now. That's a silly waste of time.

Besides, I've already read the first two chapters of the text. Why shouldn't I continue on.

Well, I haven't been here.

Nonetheless, I haven't touched the Compilers textbook.

I'm still one-thing-after-another.

I'm hoping to get a good overview by reading the compilers textbook.

But if it's a waste of time then I'd like it for the three of us to try a LISP project together perhaps.
